The Pitbull is the most common dog breed (along with Pitbull breed mixes) found in shelters in the United States. They are also the most abused, neglected, and the most euthanized breed. Approximately 40,000 people participate in organized dog fighting in the US. As it's so difficult to identify the people involved in dog fighting, this number is not precise. But, there are indications that the numbers are much higher, as these are only those involved in organized fighting. We rescue pitbulls from various situations. Did you know that, based on statistics in 2023 that 90% of Pitbull terriers and pitbull mixes in shelters are euthanized each year. The Pitbull is the most common dog breed (along with Pitbull breed mixes) found in shelters in the United States.They are also the most abused, neglected, homeless dogs, and the most of all the breeds to be euthanized.
